Chairmans Challenge 2018

Following our AGM on 11th November the “Chairmans Challenge ” shoot took place. A very testing 40 target course made interesting by a strong wind. Thanks to everyone who took part. Congratulations to this years winner Duncan Stone. Top 5 places are shown below.

Club Annual General Meeting 2018

Club members — its your turn to have a say in the running of the club.  A chance to tell us what we are doing wrong (or right hopefully). Committee members are to be elected / re-elected, a report on the clubs Financial position and where we are in the Great Scheme Of Things! Tea, coffee and biccies provided with a Bacon roll or two before we head to the range for the “Chairmans Challenge”  shoot. Please note attendance of the AGM is mandatory to enter the Chairmans Challenge.

Date for the diary is SUNDAY 11th NOVEMER 09.30 sharp at Plantation Park sports ground, Blofield.

Summer Series BBQ – Sat 8th September.

Its the last shoot of the Summer Series on 8th September with a BBQ to follow. All members are welcome and bring along a guest if you wish. Its all free of charge (well you paid for it in your membership fee after all!). Pete and Paul will be performing miracles with burgers, bacon and sausages. Tea, coffee and cake also. Lets hope the weather is good and we dont need wetsuits like last year!

East Anglian Open – Iceni Marksmen 21st July

A good showing in the trophies from Broadlands members. Superb shoot in the woods of Iceni at Colchester. Well done all for being able to shoot in 30 degrees heat! Special well dones to Simon Ayres and David Elvin who had a shoot off for the East Anglian Trophy after drawing on 37/40 each. Simon eventually winning.

FFTA – New Summer League

Fenlands are running a Summer Inter Club league for 2018. Any club member can shoot and its a chance to meet shooters from other clubs for a friendly competition. 30 target course with 2 rounds. as the Winter league – PCP the first round and Piston or Open round afterwards. £3.00 entry fee including a Golden bunny. Those members who do not shoot the Winter League will be welcomed with open arms! Further details and dates can be found here :-

Final results are now posted. Thanks to David E, Roger M and Phil W for the excellent Broadlands course. Further thanks go to all who attended this season – possibly the wettest and muddiest I have took part in! See you all at the Presentation shoot at Lea Valley on Sunday 11th March. The regional team will be announced then.
